Learn to draw with an artist’s eye.
Emphasis will be on composition, lights and darks, elementary perspective, assessing proportion, modeling form, and proper use of materials.

Classes run for eight weeks. There is a two week break. and then start for another eight weeks. Classes are ongoing in eight week segments.

ENCAUSTICS

In this class you will learn how to use the various tools that are used in creating an encaustic painting.  You will, also, learn how to apply the wax paints, the beeswax medium.
If you like, the instructor can supply the encaustic paints for an additional cost of $7.50 a week.

Beginner Acrylics: The instructor will demonstrate how to use acrylic paint techniques to create landscapes in the styles of historical artists.  These artists include Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, Claude Monet, J.M.W. Turner, Pierre-Augustus Renoir and Cezanne.

First Lesson will be Starry Night.

This class is for any level artist who wants to benefit from an instructor’s feedback with discussions about composition, values, medium, perspective and color.

Some photo references will be available, but a still life can create specific challenges.

BEGINNER WATERCOLOR

FABRIC PAINTING

BEGINNER DRAWING

Beginner Drawing: The instructor will help students overcome their fear of being able to draw.  In this class, the students will be introduced to the tools and supplies used to create beautiful, realistic, charcoal and pencil environments.  With step-by-step directions, the students will learn how to see and render values in their work.  Please bring your own sketch book.  The instructor will supply all other tools.

WATERCOLOR CLASS

ACRYLICS - BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE

In this acrylic painting class, both still life and landscape subjects will be explored and tailored to students' level of ability. Students will learn various techniques including underpainting and direct painting styles along with the elements and principles of design. The mystery of effective color mixing will be revealed and students will learn how to create a focal point in their work. Learn how to transform the ordinary into extraordinary on canvas!
