This is a 3-week adult class.
Painting on Masa/Rice Paper – Watercolor or Acrylic
Lose and unpredictable, this style of painting is done on unsized masa / rice paper. The paper is dipped in water then crumpled lightly into a ball. This is where the interesting lines come from. The paper is then carefully un-crumpled and laid out onto a flat surface. After blotting up excess water it’s ready for the first layer of paint….Sumi Ink is a good medium to start with. During the paint layering process the paper is glued to 140lb. watercolor paper.
