SUMMARY:September Gallery Reception
DESCRIPTION:September Gallery Reception \nOctober 4th \n1:00 PM – 4:00 PM \nMember’s Studio:  Artists’ Choice \nGallery 1:  Dan Sharkey \n \nDan received his teaching degree and BA in Fine Art from the University of New Jersey at Jersey City and has studied at the Art Students League of New York and the New School\, NY. Over many years\, he has received numerous awards for his work. \nDan is an exhibiting member of the New Haven Paint and Clay Club of Connecticut.  He is a past member of the Rowayton Art Center\, Connecticut\, the Ridgefield Guild of Artists\, Connecticut\, Art Students League of Denver\, Colorado and the Foothills Art Center of Golden\, Colorado.  he is a current member the Ocean County Artists Guild and Toms River Art Community.  He has exhibited in the New York Tri-state area as well as greater Denver.  His work is included in public\, corporate and private collections. \n  \nSTATEMENT \nI am most interested in looking for subtle details and moods of my subjects – some small feature\, a piece of clothing\, facial gestures\, hand movements. I try to catch them at a particular moment in time. What was their journey? Where are they now? \nI am intrigued by workday projects\, and I seek to have my paintings tell a story to the viewer\, to examine and react to everyday activities that we may take for granted. I hope that my viewers will find meaning in what is happening in the narrative of the work. \nGallery 2:  Sherry Dellaria-McGrath \n \nArtists Bio: \nI\, Sherry Dellaria-McGrath\, am committed to capturing the delicate beauty and whimsical essence of nature through\nthe art of drawing. My work is a celebration of the harmonious interplay between the natural world and the boundless\nrealm of imagination\, where each piece invites the viewer into a realm of joy and wonder.\nNature\, in all its intricate splendor\, serves as my primary muse. Every stroke of my pencil seeks to pay homage to the\ndelicate details found in the flora and fauna that surround us. It is within these details that I strive to evoke a sense of\nhappiness and beauty\, creating compositions that resonate with a playful spirit and a sense of enchantment. The\nwhimsical elements in my work are not mere embellishments but integral components that breathe life and narrative\ninto each drawing\, inviting viewers to embark on a journey where reality and fantasy converge.\nIn my creative process\, I immerse myself in the subtleties of my subjects\, employing a meticulous approach that\nhonors both the complexity and simplicity of nature’s designs. My aim is to encapsulate the fleeting moments of joy\nand the enduring allure of the whimsical\, crafting pieces that not only captivate the eye but also engage the heart.\nThrough my art\, I aspire to foster a connection between the viewer and the natural world\, encouraging a rediscovery\nof the joy and magic found in the everyday. It is my hope that my drawings serve as a reminder of the beauty that\nsurrounds us\, urging us to look beyond the ordinary and find delight in the whimsical intricacies of life. \n \nStarstruck \nArtists Statement: \nMy art journey is a vibrant dance between nature’s wonders and the delightful realm of whimsy.\nWhen the world feels a bit too serious\, I find comfort in sketching the playful side of life. My\ndrawings are a joyful mix of meticulous details and a burst of colors. Each piece I create is meant\nto radiate happiness and invite you on a whimsical adventure through enchanted forests or floral\nmeadows.\nNature is my endless muse\, offering endless patterns and colors\, from the swirling vines of a\nmorning glory to the iridescent wings of a dragonfly. I love capturing these elements\, but with a\ntwist that teases the imagination and brings a smile to your face. It’s all about finding joy in the\nlittle things and sharing that joy through art.
