SUMMARY:OCAG246 Do Your Own Thing With Instruction
DESCRIPTION:FLASH\, you are in luck!!\nThis instructor is NOW offering a per diem pricing:\n$20 members & $25 non-members for those who missed the beginning of this class session.\nThis per class fee can be paid to instructor at time of class.\nNOTE: Please contact Instructor if you plan to take advantage of this offer. \nThis is an 8-week adult class. Maximum number is 12. \nAlthough this class is not for beginners\, it will address the many issues that plague all artists: drawing\, composition\, value\, and technique. The class enjoys a vitality that comes with sharing student achievements and a joint learning experience from mistakes. This is a relaxed atmosphere where students can feel comfortable and confident. \nWhile always encouraging students to work from life\, reference material can be used from the instructor’s images or the student’s own. \nA challenging still life is different and set up for each class. \nStudents bring their own materials and work in a medium in which they are most comfortable. (wc-adult\, acrylic-adult\, drawing\, oil\, pastel) \nRecognizing a student’s strengths\, encouraging that growth\, and sometimes challenging a student to step out of their comfort zone with new approaches or mediums is this instructor’s goal.\n(summer\, wc-adult\, acrylic-adult\, mixed media\, oil) \n

SUMMARY:OCAG204 Drawing with Joseph Rogine
DESCRIPTION:FLASH\, you are in luck!!\nThis instructor is NOW offering a per diem pricing:\n$20 members & $25 non-members for those who missed the beginning of this class session.\nThis per class fee can be paid to instructor at time of class.\nNOTE: Please contact Instructor if you plan to take advantage of this offer.\nThis is a 4-week class on Thursdays\, October 31. November 7\, 14\, 21; 7-9 pm being offered to ages 12 and up!\nInstructor: Joseph Rogine  \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. I have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). Drawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. The student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. The capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. This opens a whole new world towards a visual literacy that was very common in school curricula 100 to 150 years ago. \nDepending on a students’ progress and particular interest repeat students are free to experiment with various drawing mediums like charcoal\, pastel pencil\, pen and ink etc.\, along with the drawing surfaces applicable to their chosen medium. Joseph Rogine supply list 2024. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Joseph Rogine at 732-349-6859\, or by email at info@ocartistsguild.org. (ages 12+\, teen\, adult\, drawing) \nHere are some examples of what students have created under Joseph’s instruction.\nClick on thumbnail to see a larger image.

SUMMARY:Special Reception for Pauline Mickle
DESCRIPTION:Greetings to our members and friends\, \nYou are cordially invited to attend an art show in honor of our long-time teacher and friend Pauline Mickle.  \nJoin us at the Ocean County Artists’ Guild\, 22 Chestnut Street\, Island Heights\, on Sunday November 10\, 1-3pm to celebrate the work of one of our favorite artists.  \nMeet Pauline and hear her wonderful story as you enjoy light refreshments. Her work will be on display at the Guild for entire month of November.  Hope to see you there. \nPauline Mickle grew up in Northumberland\, England\, where she developed her love of art by painting and sketching the beautiful countryside. She has lived in the United States since 1947 and has been painting ever since.\nPauline prefers watercolor as a medium\, as it is easier to use for outdoor painting. She paints in a realistic\, traditional style\, painting on location whenever possible. Her favorite subjects are landscapes\, beaches\, flowers and trees.\nShe has studied with Earl Tyler\, Pat Lafferty and Lucille Geiser and has an Associate’s Degree in Art from Ocean County College.\nPauline is a two-time past president of the Manasquan River Group of Artists and is a member of the Laurelton Arts Society and the Ocean County Artists’ Guild.  \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n\n	\n \n 1\n2\n3\n►
