DESCRIPTION:NOVEMBER GALLERY RECEPTION \nNovember 1st \n1:00 PM – 4:00 PM \nMembers Studio:  “Autumn Sunsets” \nGallery 1:  Print Group of OCAG \nGallery 2:  Manasquan River Group \nPop-Up:  Frank Parisi \n \n \nFrank Parisi is a noted Island Heights photographer who has been capturing spectacular images since high school. Over the years\, he has participated in many exhibitions\, including two solo shows at the Artists’ Guild\, and exhibitions sponsored by the John F. Peto Studio Museum\, the Black Glass Gallery\, the Guild for Creative Arts\, and the Toms River Artists Community. He has also won many awards\, particularly for his black and white photography which he believes is among his finest work. For the past five summers\, Frank was the official photographer for the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association (BBYRA)\, where he captured sailboats racing in each of the 14 classes that competed on Saturdays and posted them on the association’s website (www.bbyra.org). Though Frank’s sailing photography is perhaps his best-known work\, he is very much an opportunistic photographer\, capturing remarkable images while walking around the Jersey Shore\, New York City and the world. He has photographed in North and South America\, Europe\, Africa\, and Antarctica. The photographs in this show are a representative sample of his work. DESCRIPTION:1:00 PM – 3:00 PM \nThis class is being offered to ages 12 and up! \n$20.00 for members per class \n$25.00 for non members per class \nInstructor: Joseph Rogine \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. I have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). Drawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. The student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. The capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. I have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). Drawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. The student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. The capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling.
