SUMMARY:Drawing with Joseph Rogine
DESCRIPTION:1:00 PM – 3:00 PM \nThis class is being offered to ages 12 and up! \n$20.00 for members per class \n$25.00 for non members per class \nInstructor: Joseph Rogine \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. I have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). Drawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. The student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. The capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. This opens a whole new world towards a visual literacy that was very common in school curricula 100 to 150 years ago. \nDepending on a students’ progress and particular interest repeat students are free to experiment with various drawing mediums like charcoal\, pastel pencil\, pen and ink etc.\, along with the drawing surfaces applicable to their chosen medium. Joseph Rogine supply list 2024. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Joseph Rogine at 732-349-6859\, or by email at info@ocartistsguild.org. (ages 12+\, teen\, adult\, drawing)

SUMMARY:April Gallery Reception
DESCRIPTION:April Gallery Reception\nApril 4\, 2027\n1:00 PM – 4:00 PM\n \nGallery 1- \nGallery 2- Helen Harris\nPop Up- Fran Van Ostrand\n \n \n\n\nFrancine Van Ostrand is a mixed media and fibre artist. She has always enjoyed art of any kind and after graduating from Manchester Regional High School in Haledon \, New Jersey went to Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art for a three year course in Art and Textiles. Upon graduating she was employed in New York City as a textile artist then formed her own freelance business named Van Ostrand Enterprises. \nAfter almost 40 years in the textile business painting designs for fabric\, home furnishings and kitchen ware she retired. She then joined the Ocean County Artists Guild and took many classes there trying to find her nitch! Finally taking a class with a lovely lady who introduces her her to abstract art and collage. She has been doing abstract art\, collage and over the last few years has introduced fibre art to the mix. Francine has since entered many shows\, had a few of her own solo shows and won many awards. \nFrancine’s art has incorporated everything from paint\, paper\, ink\, all kinds of collage material and tea bags! Tea bags have been a substantial part of her art for many years and she still uses them.. Now she also incorporates slow stitching to the mix and a lot of color! \nFrancine is now stepping back a bit from larger pieces of art and is enjoying creating smaller pieces with the same enthusiasm she has always had. \n\nMembers Theme: “Awesome Architecture”
