DESCRIPTION:D.Y.O.T. with Instruction with Carol Colvin \nOctober 14\, 21\, 28\, November 4\, 11\, 18\, 25\, December 2 \n3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.   \nMembers:  $160 \nNon-members:  $200 \nHello members\, \nMy new class is starting\, and I will continue to set up a still-life\, and instruct students with their own projects\, but . . .Ever get frustrated with a watercolor you just can’t get right?  Been there\, done that.  Some time ago I did a portrait of a niece in watercolor.  Loved the tilt of her head and the flowers in her hair (she was a bridesmaid I think); but at that time I could not achieve the softness of her face in paint.  So\, I went over the entire work with pastels\, which are soft and blend beautifully.  Join me in class\, beginning April 1\, 3:30 – 5:30\, for 8 weeks.  $160 members\, $200 for non-members.  I will supply the pastels.  Doesn’t have to be a portrait that you want to enhance\, could be landscape\, still-life or abstract.  So much fun to get messy with your materials. \nHere is Sarah:

DESCRIPTION:D.Y.O.T. with Instruction with Carol Colvin \nOctober 14\, 21\, 28\, November 4\, 11\, 18\, 25\, December 2 \n3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.   \nMembers:  $160 \nNon-members:  $200 \nHello members\, \nMy new class is starting\, and I will continue to set up a still-life\, and instruct students with their own projects\, but . . .Ever get frustrated with a watercolor you just can’t get right?  Been there\, done that.  Some time ago I did a portrait of a niece in watercolor.  Loved the tilt of her head and the flowers in her hair (she was a bridesmaid I think); but at that time I could not achieve the softness of her face in paint.  So\, I went over the entire work with pastels\, which are soft and blend beautifully.  Join me in class\, beginning April 1\, 3:30 – 5:30\, for 8 weeks.  $160 members\, $200 for non-members.  I will supply the pastels.  Doesn’t have to be a portrait that you want to enhance\, could be landscape\, still-life or abstract.  So much fun to get messy with your materials. \nHere is Sarah:

DESCRIPTION:Third Sunday of each month 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm\n(Tony Apostolaros 732-237-2041) \nThe Guild requests a $3 donation to the Guild at each session from each person who attends the session. \nWe take turns around the circle singing songs and maybe singing or playing along. We sing folk songs\, pop songs\, and hymns\, and sometimes we have an improvised music jam. The only rule is that it’s all acoustic\, with no amplifiers or microphones. Everyone is welcome to take a turn in the circle\, or just to listen. If you come just to listen\, feel free to bring a quiet activity such as sketching or reading. This class is for teens\nwho enjoy making art but need guidance with drawing skills\, use of materials\, color choices\nand composition.\nThe principles of design\, composition\, value are learned using the traditional art materials of\nvarious pencils\, watercolor\, acrylic and pastel… or a combination of medium.\nStudents should bring their own materials and their creativity\, with a willingness to experiment\nwith new ideas and/or new materials. If a beginner artist\, bring a sketch pad (10×12)\, drawing\npencils and a kneaded rubber eraser.\nTo encourage growth as an artist\, it is helpful to this instructor if for the first few sessions\,\nstudents bring in a few samples of their art\, to initiate a discussion about their learning goals.
