SUMMARY:Cool Beans Coffee House Exhibit Opportunity - July / August 2025 - "Summer Breeze"
DESCRIPTION:“Summer Breeze” \nDrop off 6/25/25 and 6/26/25 for July/August \nThe Ocean County Artists Guild will be hanging art every other month (even months). \n\nWe are limited to 5 pieces each turn. One piece per artist.\nIf I receive more than 5\, I will need to randomly choose from the lot.\nWith the dates for drop-off\, I have suggested some themes to coincide with the months to grab attention. They are only suggestions\, and your art does not need to coincide with the theme.\nMake sure you wire each with a strong wire and secure eye or u hook and no lower than 1/3 from the top. They must be wired.  Art cannot be larger than 20″ x 24″ with frame or frameless.\nhanging-guidelines-2.pdf (ocartistsguild.org)\n\nThanks\,\nTerry Konn\nCool Beans Curator

SUMMARY:Drawing with Joseph Rogine May 29th; June 5th\, 19th & 26th
DESCRIPTION:This is a 4-week class on Thursdays\, May 29\, June 5\, 19 & 26   7-9 pm \nThis class is being offered to ages 12 and up! \n$100 non- members $80.00 members \nInstructor: Joseph Rogine \nThese classes are designed for both beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their skills in drawing. I have taught students for over 25 years who have never picked up a pencil to draw to those who have been quite advanced. \nIt is an academic course\, (academic being defined as that which can be taught). Drawings are created by copying master drawings\, simple to complex still-life objects and classical plaster casts. The student usually begins by copying a master drawing that is supplied to them. \nAll students start out using graphite pencils with grades of 2H HB 2B. The capabilities and limitations of drawing materials and drawing instruments are discussed at length along with their proper handling. Classes are essentially about learning how to see nature and the world as an artist sees it\, through the language and medium of drawing. \nThe student’s eye will gradually become trained and sensitive on how to compose a layout on the page\, assessing proportion\, elementary perspective\, gauge angles\, identify shapes\, access the degree of curvature of forms\, locate hidden movements and linear rhythms\, the structure and modeling of form and the study of light and shade. This opens a whole new world towards a visual literacy that was very common in school curricula 100 to 150 years ago. \nDepending on a students’ progress and particular interest repeat students are free to experiment with various drawing mediums like charcoal\, pastel pencil\, pen and ink etc.\, along with the drawing surfaces applicable to their chosen medium. Joseph Rogine supply list 2024. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Joseph Rogine at 732-349-6859\, or by email at info@ocartistsguild.org. (ages 12+\, teen\, adult\, drawing)
