Arlette Malvernier

From Alsace, France to New York, NY to New Jersey

My training as an artist took place at the Art Students League of New York. My studies as a part time student extended over a period of 10 years while I was pursuing my career in International Travel and Convention work. After retiring from the travel industry, I moved from New York to Toms River New Jersey and finally became a fulltime artist. After years of passionate portrait painting I have now turned to Landscape. My Show will include some beautiful scenes of Alsace France where I was born and lived for 25 years, New York, and especially the Jersey Shore. The great beauty of the Jersey Shore was unknown to me until my friend Nancy took me to places where I never was before. I hope that my pastel paintings and linoleum cuts will testify to what I felt when standing in front of the most beautiful sunset. There were swans gliding peacefully over the shining water and charming luminous houses completing the Scene in the background. I also wish to honor my
Compatriot the sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi born in Colmar Alsace France, creator of the Statue of Liberty. He was my inspiration for the graphite drawing presented with my resume’.
