In November, the Guild invited several talented artists to participate in our Fiber Art Exhibit. The definition of fiber art is as follows: Fiber art refers to a style of fine art whose material consists of natural or synthetic fiber and other components such as fabric, yarn or paper. It focuses on the materials and on the manual labor on the part of the artist as part of the works’ significance and prioritizes aesthetic value over utility. To this end the Guild has invited these artists to participate: Betty Lou Cox, Denise Gray,
Tamara Woronczuk, Geri Ambrose, Sally Cornelison, Donna Nicosia, Barbara Calvo, Kath Gregitis and Francine Van Ostrand.
Many different artworks will be on display ranging from wall hangings, sculpture, altered books and everything in between.
