Gallery 2:  Nora Glantzman Atmosphere

           Nora Glanzman began drawing at an early age and, as a teenager, she attended both the Phoenix School of Design and New York City High School of Music and Art. There she was exposed to many medias, with emphasis on modern design. After marriage, she moved to New Jersey and raised her family. She returned to painting at the Old Mill Gallery in Tinton Falls, under the guidance of Geza De Vegh. Learning there about handling oil paints, she set up an easel at home, and it pretty much stayed up through the years. She also tried her hand at watercolor, studying at Georgian Court Collage, as well as here at the guild with Beverly Golumbeski and Pauline Mickel. At the Ocean County Collage, she took further classes in oil painting, graphic arts, typography, and visual literacy. She also studied pastels with the late Terry Pezzuti and enjoys black and white ink drawings. “In my paintings I try to capture the life of a subject, including the atmosphere which surrounds it and the light that surrounds it and the light that shines on it create a held together statement” This is Nora’s approach to landscapes, portraiture, and still lives in her upcoming
