About the Artist:

Kristopher Schoenleber
Photography has been a passion of mine since childhood. I can remember using my fathers Kodak to grab pictures of just about everything. Now as an adult, Im lucky enough to have a career as a broadcast news photographer. I have been working in news for almost 19 years, and have been honored with several NY Emmy nominations, along with winning two NY Emmys. Still photography is my escape, and when I can find the time I love to travel to discover new places to cap-ture. In the last few years Ive had a number of pieces in many local art shows, coming away with several Best in Shows. Some of my photos were also chosen for publication in the photography books The Real Jersey Shoreby the Asbury Park Press in 2011, and New Jersey 350thAnniversaryby in 2014. My photography was also featured in the instructional book, Sumo for Mixed Martial Arts,a 2016 Foreward INDIES Finalist, and National Park Trips Media 2017 Yosemite Park Guide magazine. I love to show my work, and let my photos take people into a different world. A picture can stir up all sorts of emotions, and I hope that sometimes my shots can make that kind of impact on the audience. I capture the world around me as I see it. I feel that I make photographs for people to escape into. My ulti-mate goal is to produce images that are almost hyper-realistic, but do not slip into the look of other-worldly.Since I started studying and learning photography using film, I always find myself drawn to a more simple shot. Ill look to black and white, sharp lines, patterns and strong contrast over intense colors and busy scenes. My work projects calm and quiet, loneliness and a connection with the landscape. I tend to keep people out of my shot, I want to convey the last person on Earth and one with nature feel.
