Decoy Carving with Jode Hillman

Join artist Jode Hillman for a one day intensive carving and painting seminar. The subject will be a black belly plover shore bird.
Participants will carve and paint an antique style black belly plover. Fashioned after hunting style shorebirds similar to what has been used in Ocean County in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Prior carving experience is not needed, but participants need to be able to use knives, sandpaper, and hand held paint brushes over the course of an entire day.
The class should run about six hours, give or take.
A carving knife is needed or arrangements to borrow one from Jode can be provided.
