A Wonderful Afternoon at Our May Gallery Reception

Yesterday, the OCAG  bloomed with creativity, conversation, and community as we celebrated our May Gallery Opening Reception.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to support our talented artists. The studio was filled with inspiring interpretations of this month’s theme, “Familiar Faces,” each piece offering a unique and personal perspective that truly brought the walls to life. It was wonderful to see so many members exhibiting in the studio spaces. A special thank you to our featured artists, Keith Spaar and Debbie Kurtz for sharing their incredible work with us, as well as unique hand crafted wood turned items created by the Atlantic Shore Wood Turners Association.

If you weren’t able to attend the reception, we invite you to stop by and experience the exhibit throughout the month. There’s so much to see, and every visit offers something new to discover!

Funky Figures Collage Workshop

The Funky Figures Collage Workshop was a hit! Artists of all levels came together for an afternoon of creativity, laughter, and hands-on exploration. Through playful techniques and imaginative expression, participants expanded their artistic skills while embracing the joy of collage. Missed this one? Don’t worry, stay tuned for another collage workshop coming this Fall!

Be Part of Island Heights History!

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to contribute to a lasting community project.  Help design and paint artwork for a new bicycle rack at our local library, an Eagle Scout project, that will be proudly displayed on Central Avenue for all to enjoy for years. Check out this new space.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Creative Artwork should reflect a love of reading and Island Heights Culture with a text (Ex. “Island Heights Rides to Read”. Would like scenery to reflect the sailing culture, water, birds, sunset, etc… with a few book bindings with names on them reflecting the town, ex. Peto Press…)
  • Final installation size roughly: 7ft wide by 3ft tall (exact size to be determined)
  • Submit your design (hard copy or digital) to: roaringroman@icloud.com
  • Submission deadline: May 10th

Selected participants will also be invited to take part in the unveiling ceremony (date to be announced). For questions, please contact Roman at: Roaringroman@icloud.com
