September Members Show: Artist’s Choice

It’s time to bring in your artwork for OCAG’s September Members Show! This month’s theme is “Artist’s Choice,” so members are invited to showcase the work they’re most excited to share. Art receiving will take place Wednesday, September 2 and Thursday, September 3. When dropping off your work, please sign in using the Member Show binder, complete a label for each piece, and pay the $5 fee for up to two pieces. Members participating in Sailfest should also bring in their non-winning entries by Thursday, September 3, so they can be included in Friday’s Pop-Up display. Beginning Tuesday, September 1, please remember to pick up any sold pieces and artwork from the August show. Please note that there will be no Opening Reception in September due to Labor Day weekend. Instead, we’ll celebrate our September artists with a special Closing Reception on Sunday, September 27 from 1:00–4:00 PM. We hope you’ll join us!

OCAG Needs Volunteers for Sailfest!

We need volunteers to help us represent the Guild at Sailfest on Saturday, September 12, 2026! We are seeking members and friends who can lend a hand in two-hour volunteer slots between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM to help us set up before and break down after the event, man the tables,face painting (no supplies needed), and to sit at the Guild to greet visitors. Whether you can give us one shift or would like to stay longer, your help will make a big difference. Sailfest is a wonderful opportunity for OCAG to connect with the community, introduce new people to the Guild, and share all of the creative programs, exhibitions, classes, and events we have to offer.

Oil Painting Class with Debbie Kurtz, All Levels Welcome

Join us this autumn for an inspiring Oil Painting Class taught by instructor Debbie Kurtz. Whether you are a beginner exploring oils for the first time or an experienced artist looking to strengthen your technique, this class offers a welcoming and creative environment for all skill levels. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s words, “The artist sees what others only catch a glimpse of,” students will enjoy the process of creating original oil paintings from personal landscape or still-life photographs while developing composition skills and confidence with the medium. Participants are encouraged to bring a selection of favorite reference photos along with their canvas and oil painting materials.

The updated annual membership fees are:

Single Membership: $60

Couple Membership: $80

Family Membership: $85

Patron Membership: $72

Teen Membership: $30

Membership dues play an important role in supporting our exhibitions, classes, programs, and creative community. We sincerely appreciate your continued support!

Important Reminder for Exhibiting Artists

If you are preparing to submit artwork for an upcoming Members’ Show, please make sure your OCAG membership is active and your dues are current. All participating artists must have an active membership at the time of hanging and installation. Artwork submitted by anyone whose membership is not current will not be displayed. To renew your membership or complete your submission, please visit the OCAG Shop. Thank you for helping us keep the exhibition process running smoothly. We look forward to showcasing your work!
