Fabrics in February Entry Submission

Dear Art Quilters, Weavers, and Textile Artists,

The Ocean County Artists’ Guild located in Island Heights, New Jersey is a unique center for the arts in central Jersey.  We offer classes, workshops, concerts, children’s art classes, poetry readings and many other cultural events. Every month we feature new exhibits by two artists, and our members with two major photography shows each year as well.  We are a unique organization in the area and are always looking to offer new art experiences to our members and the surrounding communities. 

Presently we are in the process of developing a show entitled “Fabrics in February 2023” featuring small original quilts, textile pieces and weaving. The work will be judged and cash prizes will be presented at the Sunday reception.  I also hope to schedule one or two fabric demonstrations during the month. The current plan is to collect the artwork mid-January.

 I hope participating in this exhibit interests you.  I am very excited to bring this lovely and enduring artform to our area.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES

• Entry form is due by November 1, 2022. Photo is due by December 15
• Drop off dates and times are the following: Wednesday, January 18, 1-4 pm and Thursday, January 19, 10-2pm. If these times do not work for you, please contact me at 732-998-8286
• Reception: Sunday, February 5, 1-4pm
• Fees: $35. For one entry, $45. for two
• Size restrictions: Largest acceptable size: 36 x 48 inches.
• If you would like to present a demonstration of your work during the month of February, please contact me so we can schedule your event.
• A raffle will be held the day of the reception of various quilting/sewing/fabric items.
• Prizes will be awarded at the reception.
• Judge: Harry Bower, distinguished textile, book and mixed media artist
• Pick-up date: Tuesday, February 28, 12:00-4:00 PM
