OCAG President, Bill Pike (second from right) accepts the 2025 Ocean County Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award on behalf of the OCAG.
OCAG Honored with 2025 Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award
In a stirring celebration of creativity, culture, and community, OCAG was awarded the prestigious 2025 Ocean County Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award. The honor was presented during the annual Salute to Ocean County: A Celebration of Arts and Heritage on Thursday, May 15, at the Ocean County College Gateway Building.
The evening showcased Ocean County’s vibrant artistic legacy, and the spotlight shone brightest on OCAG, a beloved institution that has served as the cornerstone of visual arts in the region for more than five decades. Established in 1957 by a group of visionary women determined to create a home for the arts, the Guild has grown into a vital hub for artistic education, exhibition, and engagement.
“We are honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award,” said Bill Pike, OCAG President. “It’s a powerful recognition of the work that so many dedicated individuals have put into this Guild over the decades. I know our founders would be incredibly proud to see how far we’ve come — and to see that their vision continues to thrive.”

The award, presented by the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, recognizes organizations and individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the arts in the county. OCAG was praised for its tireless efforts in supporting local artists, offering accessible arts education, and preserving the cultural fabric of the community.
“OCAG has always been about more than just art,” Pike added. “It’s about connection — connecting people to the arts, to each other, and to their own creative potential. This award reinforces the importance of that mission and inspires us to keep pushing forward.”
The celebration drew a diverse crowd of artists, student performers, educators, officials, and supporters from across Ocean County, all gathered to honor the people and organizations who shape the cultural life of the region. The evening included musical performances, tributes to local heritage, and a strong sense of shared pride.
