Highlights of the Month

In the Galleries in August

James Kelly "In the Era of Barnegat Sail"

This is a collection of watercolors that depicts a past long lost on the bay. A time when a trip to the Jersey Shore meant a rail trip, or steamboat excursion, followed by a short sail by Cat Boat, out to the Barrier island, to enjoy the sea air and sun soaked dunes. Click here to read more!

The combined work of two artists Michael Carrigan
and Marie DeVenezia
"The Expressiveness of Charcoal"

Michael Carrigan - I enjoy being in the "zone", drawing. I studied art and architecture in college. I've worked as a draftsman and with bridge designers in NYC and Philly for many years. When I heard, "People are the hardest thing to draw", I was intrigued.

Marie DeVenezia - I draw and paint because I love to do it. It is as simple as that. I graduated from the Phoenix School of Design in New York City and studied watercolor with Edgar Whitney. I feel so fortunate to have spent my entire career working in the company of my fellow artists.

October in Galleries I & II

There is a change in the program.
We are going to have a small art show??? What does that mean? Your art must not exceed 12 x12. no photos please.
The size of your frame does not count just the size of your art. Here is the big challenge to put in as much detail as you possibly can into this artwork. This show does not meet the standard of miniature art but it does require work. The gallery committee is not going to set any price range to the art, this is at the discretion of the artist. These two galleries will hold approximately 45 pieces of work, we will accept one piece of art-work from each artist. We are however requesting a $3.00 fee to cover the gallery fee of $150.00. Please Please take the challenge our Guild's artist are wonderfully talented and diverse and I know that this will be an interesting show. We will still do small reasonably price art for December as a fundraiser, so keep that in mind.
