In the Galleries in September

Reception - Sunday, September 7th ~ 1 - 4 pm

All printmaking members of the Ocean County Artists’ Guild will show their hand pulled prints in this exhibit. Printmaking methods (not to be confused with reproductions) vary from white line printing to etching and more. The primary technique used by the artists in our Print Club, which meets each Tuesday from 12:30 – 4:00 pm and is open to our Guild members, is the Reduction Linoleum Cut method. An image is drawn on the linoleum block. The block is cut with cutting tools, inked and pressed onto the paper. Colors are determined by the artist and are rolled out on the block from the lightest color to the darkest. This process is used with each desired color. The exciting part is the printing of the final dark color. It brings the art work into a full and complete picture. It simply makes it pop!

Come to the Studio Print Show and enjoy the lovely works the artists have created. They will be eager to talk to you about this interesting and challenging method of printmaking!
